1998 superhawk 996. rear cylinder intermittant no fire

#1 Unread post by erik lange »

I'm trying to work out an intermittant firing problem on a 1998 superhawk 996. The rear cylinder stops firing when under heavy load or high rpm. The coils, wires, plug boots, and plugs are all new. I suspect one of the cdi units but don't know how to determine which one as there appears to be two units...possibly one for the front cylinder and one for the rear or set up as a primary and secondary system. All input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all, Erik.
