2000 honda shadow sabre 1 lugging
does any body have any idea's as to why a 2000 honda shadow sabre 1100 would be driven down the open road at 55 mph. then start 1 lungin. if you keep riden it while 1 lungin the battery dies. if you stop on the side of the road shut the bike off and then turn the key on and start the bike it's fine. it got clean air filter, new spark plugs and good fuel. any ideas

My guess would be that your not charging the battery at the proper rate. With that said, I'm no mechanic...

Thats a little vague I really can't get an idea where to start with that. Battery dies what do you mean a total loss of power? Or does the engine just stall?
there aint nothin like it

I mean your doing 55 mph with plenty of power and lose half or more power. so you could go wide open with no change but you do slow down. after you can only drive for around half a mile. if you continue to ride with it acting up the engine will die and the battery is dead. but if you stop shut the engine off (turn the key off) then wait 1 sec (turn the key on) start the engine the bike run's fine like nothing ever happened. so far it only does it when your riding on open road. it doesn't drop a jug in town red light to red light so there is no over heating. the battery is only 2 weeks old

I'd start by checking the charging circuit.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Sounds like you have a short in the stator or reg that is tripping what sounds like a breaker and when it cools down it will close again. Make sure there are fuses not breakers in the system. I have seen folks put breakers in where fuses should be because of an intermittent problem like a headlight shorting a harness when it gets to hot and other issues. But other than that I would make sure your grounds are good and terminals are tight.
