Went for a short ride today, stopped for fuel, popped over to the mall, absolutely no problems. Went to go home, bike turned over then nothing, no power, no display, nada... Any ideas???

Did you check your fuses?

Totally dead? Not a safety switch then...
Battery in line fuse or fusible link?

just kidding check batt, terminals ie broken cables, fuses and then key switch that should give some idea of where to go to fix your problem.

Check for corroded battery terminals.
I've seen this symptom many times over the years on cars.
But could also be that battery has totally given up. (Low maintenance batteries for cars die this way)

I'm going to throw the charger on it today and see if that does anything, although there was no issue with starting at all during the ride. I'll have to pull the manual out and see where the offending fuses might be, three different locations for them on this bike, two of them buried in separate fairings...

I'll put my bet on loose battery cables. I've had that happen once before too.

Nope, cables are fine, fully charged and still zip... Never thought to check to see if the lights were on...

So, a friend of mine has the same bike a year younger than mine. He's in the same boat as I am right now. The difference, he had issues leading up to the dead bike. When he started the bike, sometimes his dash would go blank, then come back on, all his radio station presets, his clock, all would have defaulted to factory presets. I'm wondering if we have the same problem or not. I haven't had the time or a warm place to actually tear into my bike yet.

IDEAS???

Battery is fine, currently hooked up to my tender. Battery connections are clean and tight, (Battery is only a year old, if that.)

I am gonna say kick stand switch is a good start if applicable check the fuses relays and last but not least the key switch connections especially if the key is on the triple tree
