The Dunlops seem to me , to want to creep when I lean into a turn and accelerate , Like they are ready to break loose , almost.. its a bit un-nerving at times and something I could do without . I'm far from an "Experienced" rider with large cruisers or touring bikes , but according to what my tires are telling me, I've logged roughly 10K miles in about 7 months , commuting and going on small day trips .(I've been able to account for about 7K of those miles , so the 10K might be a bit generous)

I don't know if that's good or bad tire life and where I am hoping to get some frame of reference from other's experiences .

The Honda I ride , and myself , have a curb weight of right at 1000 pounds , I think 750 for the bike , the rest for me, my gear and luggage . I'm planning on getting into more 2-up riding and am led to believe that the Metzler triple 8's are the best for safety , performance and longevity on cruiser/touring style bikes . My new tires should be here this weekend and installed in time for a Sunday ride for brunch . The majority of my mileage is commuting with a few pucker moments scattered in just as your experiences show .

I looked at my tires this morning. They are 888.

I decided that they corner much better than the Dunlops. I got all green lights on the way to work this morning....until I got a couple of blocks away from work...because of not stopping and starting...and being able to just keep riding around the corners...the corners felt smoother and easier...

If I get the expected mileage from these tires, I would buy them again.

my MC shop did not call me this weekend , so , am hoping to have the tires for next weekend , instead breaking in a new pillion who is very claustrophobic in a full face helmet ,,, any body interested in a Shoei RF-1100 small ?? Not gonna sell it , but am hoping she will get used to it instead . Oh Well ,,

She will get used to it. If she rides with the face shield open and feels the wind....it shouldn't take long.

I was the only person who rode to work yesterday. It rained a little....

Today one of the people who usually rides...but didn't yesterday...probably won't tomorrow because it will rain a bit.

Her reason...because she will have to polish it again. I told her I hadn't cleaned mine from the last rain, so I'm riding.

Today there was the usual complement of motorcycles. It was a dry, mostly sunny day today.

Regardless of the weather...all the cars and motorcycles get covered with dust everyday anyway. Our office and bus depot are right on the corner of 2 main roadways. There's a lot of heavy truck traffic. There is also a construction project directly across the street. The dust is never ending.

I have a big job ahead of me to get both my car and motorcycle cleaned.

Last weekend I took my 8 year old nephew to his swimming lesson and then we stayed to swim and play in the pool. We went down the waterslide, too.

Anyway...8 year old boys are not exactly clean and tidy. So, the car needs some TLC.

You should experience a bit of hard core pride when your bike is the only one in the car park. You are intrepid! If it was not for riding in the rain my bike would never look remotely clean.

I'll pick a dry sunny day... it's pouring rain here today.

When it's raining like this, I can get some much needed work done in my ongoing back room project.

There have been occasions when it's been raining so hard, only a fool would go ride.... I am that fool.

It's a good skill to know for when you really have to get somewhere when the rain starts. I now own waterproof riding gear and a bright reflective vest....however...when I first started out, I couldn't afford to buy a waterproof riding jacket and pants....I wore a bright yellow slicker over my riding jacket and gortex pants over the riding pants...I also bought a pair of $30.00 overbooties for my hiking boots...(I couldn't afford proper riding boots in the beginning either)...those booties pack small....and when the rain starts, find a place to pull over and put the booties over the boots. Feet stay warm and dry.

I live in a rather rainy climate...so it's important to be prepared.
