Thinking of re-biking

#1 Unread post by NorthernPete »

Seen online a guy is selling a 1989 ninja 250. Wants 600 for it. 33k klicks and will need sprockets, battery and a chain. What would be a good offer?

Unless $600 is a lot of money for you, I would not have a problem just paying $600 for just about any bike that is mechanically sound and running. Batteries, chains, tires, and other similar maintenance items not withstanding. I would, however, want to have an independent motorcycle tech give it a good going over to verify that it is mechanically sound. Not so much because of the $600, but if it has any larger problems that is going to cost quite a bit more than $600.

It sounds like the bike is being sold with a lot of outstanding maintenance issues, which might, or might not, be indicative of the maintenance care that the bike has received over the years.

Safe Travels,
Richard

What he said.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
