ahhhhhh!

ok so me and the girlfreind were out on the town thuresday, movie, dinner, the whole shabang. my 78 honda cx500 squired us about town, and it was a really successful night any way, the next morning i get up and am about to go for a drive and there it is, my flaless right tale pipe is covered in black nike rubber, i about "poo poo" my pants. turns out she wasent using the foot peg she was using my pipe. well any way i scrubbed at it for a good bit of time and nothing happend, i really dont want to scrach the crome. how do i get it off!!
im open to suggestions help me!

Try WD40, or failing that chrome polish paste on a buffing wheel...

Hmmmmmmn...Been there, got it off.....I think I used Eucalyptus Oil.

It can remove Tar from chrome M/C Rims!

Avoid contact with skin & eyes, in liquid form it's strong stuff!

0000 steel wool will get it off and wont scratch the chrome.

I don't think anyone said this yet - first go for a long ride - get the pipe real hot - it'll come off without a trace with the steel wool after that.

Thats what I was going to suggest as well. get the pipe hot again to remelt the rubber. And tell your GF to use the footpeg next time. Does she know her shoe melted?

Sometimes I am a little slow so forgive me.....I hope you guys were kidding about the steel wool.....

There are also products like Bug and Tar Remover and Goo Gone that possibly will work....without the use of steel wool.
