i have the 600 katana i went to get my rear brake pads from a local shop they wanted over 50$ for the cheapest pads and had to wait a week to get them. i ended up finding http://www.calsportbike.com/ they got me galfer pads for 30 shipped. havent gotten them on yet, been lazy but im sure they will be awesome pads ha.eugeart wrote:Sorry if I sounded a bit pompous there. I originally thought the rear was worn. It turned out to be the front so I only replaced them. The rear I left alone. I've babied these brake for about 150 miles or so, and they work well. I'm impressed with the EBC sintered. They were $30 each side after tax. I could redo all four disk drakes on my car for $30. And tires- don't even get me started. Oil? Costs the same as a car or more with a decent filter. Who said bikes were cheap?
oil i just did recently, used castrol gtx oil bought a case for i think 25$ changed my bike and car and still got half a case left so that wasnt too pricey. a buddy of mine insists on using amsol every 3k miles which is costing him a fortune obviously.
bikes certainly arent cheap though, but ive put more money into my stupid old car recently than the bike so im not complaining about my bike right now. its the labor at the shop that really kills you im doing everything i can to learn to work on my bike to avoid any trips into a shop.
