RUSH factoid:

Rush is third on the list of musicians/bands for the number of consecutive gold records.

The first two are The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Not too bad company.

I like their early stuff. Kinda lost interest after 2112. that is their best "album" in my opinion.

you lost interest after their 4th album?

You missed out on a lot of really good music then.

After Moving Pictures I stopped paying serious attention. I only started listening during Permanent Waves, so I really only was a BIG Rush fan for two albums, but during that time I learned of the earlier works and thought they were brilliant. I still love to hear a song from them on the radio, and I have actually intentionally listened to Red Barchetta several times recently. :rocking:

I used to have a Camaro and when I cranked Red Barchetta it made me want to drive really really fast. Great tune.

As for music, my favorite band is Vast, though I doubt anyone here's ever heard of him.
I have heard of Vast, I had a single on a Cd I got when I bought a book, The song was "Touched", very powerfull sound! I may pick up an albumn if they ever get any at the one music store here In town.

Rush was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and did not get selected. Since then they have not even been nominated. What a f'ing joke - I've always felt they never got proper recognition in the US and that proves it. Anyway if you're a true fan and want to right a wrong, click the link and sign the petition to get them in the Hall. So far there's over 24,000 sigs.

I dunno, at risk of having my Canadian citizenship revoked, Im not a big fan. The music is good, but I think Geddy Lee should just be content being a bass god and leave the singing to someone who doesnt sound like hes been hoofed in the nards repeatedly. The man cant sing, but hell, neither can I, so crank it up and enjoy it if thats your thing.

:wtf: can't sing? 22 consecutive gold records disagree with you. But if it's not your thing it's not your thing - there's plenty of popular music out there I think sucks arse.
