HI guys , I bought this motorcycle 2 Years ago and it had always had this knocking noise. It gets better when its hot but it is always present. The bike's idle also goes up when the bike gets warm. I am including a video of the bike running cold from last year after the winter ( I live in QC , Canada ) So it had not ran for 6 months. The bike is not in the greatest shape but its not that bad. Paid 700$ CAD for it and its my first motorcycle.
When the bike is warm it actually runs well, does not bog down and sounds great exept from that knocking noise wich you can also hear a bit here.
I am planning to give it a bit of love before the begining of the season with my mechanic friend but any advices / tricks would be very appreciated.
Thanks to you all and Ride Safe !

Could be a lot of things quite frankly...timing chain stretch beyond the tensioners' reach, a worn clutch basket, bad wrist pins, etc...too difficult to tell from a windy YouTube video...try to pinpoint the noise with a stethoscope or join a forum specific to that model.

Did you ever figure this out? I have an 86 that has the same exact knock to the T.

Re: 1985 Suzuki Intruder VS750 Engine Knock
The video you provided doesn't show the bike running, so it's difficult to accurately diagnose the knocking noise. However, based on the description, it's possible that the noise could be caused by a few different issues:
Cam chain tensioner: This is a common problem in motorcycles, especially older ones. When the cam chain tensioner wears out, it can make a knocking sound when the engine is hot.
Low oil pressure: If the oil pressure is low, the engine can overheat and make a knocking sound
Rod or crank bearings: In rare cases, the knocking sound could be caused by worn rod or crank bearings. This is a more serious problem that requires professional repair.
