Reader tip: I found out years ago, batteries are not batteries. Yuasa for example carries 3 different quality levels of the same battery. The "white" one (Conventional), YTZ and GYZ (top of the line).
I’ve used a few different types over the years—mostly AGM sealed, but I recently gave an EverStart AGM battery from Walmart a try. Honestly, it’s been surprisingly reliable for the price. Not quite on par with Yuasa’s GYZ series (those are tanks), but for casual riding or a backup, EverStart isn’t bad at all. Totally agree that not all batteries are created equal, learned that the hard way once with a no-name brand that barely lasted a season.
