OK Label me
Just for fun, let's see what we can come up with, The price of labeling me is to let us give you one.
I am 44. Started riding at age 12. Have ridden dirt bikes. Did 20 years as an observed trials rider. First on road bike, Kawa KL 250 dual. The Guzzi SP 1000, then BMW 1150 RT, then BMW K1200S. Ride with a group of BMW guys, often as leader or tail end charlie. Attend as much training as possible and always wear protection. Favourite ride, anything over 400Kms with the wife on the pillion. Ok do your worst I can take it.

I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Spent a couple of years in the dirt on my fickle 79 YZ80. Learned my road craft 13 years ago on a horribly unforgiving RZ500. Moved onto a 750 Katana which I rode for 6 years, then a big leap up to a VTR1000 which I crashed and destroyed my right wrist in the process. I bought a TL1000s soon after but the riding position no longer suited my damaged body. All of which brought me to my true calling: Bandit 1200 streetfighters. I can't see the point in going fast except if it is through a corner as nothing beats that knife edge between scraping pegs and a low side.

My first motorcycle ride was when I was a teenager. A friends old honda wouldnt idle. I told him i'd look at it as I had some experience rebuilding a jeep and working cars. After i got it running somehow, I decided to take it out in my parents neighborhood for a ride. I dropped it at the end of the driveway as i'd never been on a bike before. I was hooked.
A few years later i was living in the city going to college, and i grew tired of trying to find parking for my 300zx, so i bought a $400 Honda cx500 which i drove for 3 years, then sold for $400. I drove in all weather, all over on that thing, with no riding gear except a helmet which was required at the time.
Fastforward about 5 years, and I come across a deal on a cbr1000f that was wrecked. I put a new engine in it, but then ended up selling it for another jeep cj :\ I never rode it, nor have i ever ridden a sport bike to this day. I have a feeling in the back of my head that I'm destined to die if i ride a sport bike, but the more experience i get, the more i'm considering it.
A few years after that brings us up to this spring, where I decided i wanted to commute on a motorcycle again so i bought a 84 Honda 650 Nighthawk. I've put several thousand miles on it this summer, finally took the MSF course, and I've been riding it ever since. I ride for fun, and the fastest i ever go is 80 on the highway. I'm older and hopefully smarter then I was in my college days, So i always wear, gloves, a ful face helmet, a joe rocket jacket, and jeans when i ride.
I recently picked up a 80 Gs550e for my girlfriend whom i took the msf course with, and now i ride with her.
I'm all about the joy of being on a bike, and the commradary of doing it with other people who enjoy the same thing. The gas milage isnt bad either
Eventually i want to get into long distance touring. I've already gone across country on a Bicycle several times, so its only natural i'd like to do the same thing on a motorcycle.
So, not sure what label I get, but thats pretty much my experience with motorcycles and riding.

Well, My first expirience with a bike came when I was about 11 years old, on a friends dirt bike. I had trouble with the whole clutch thing. I never rode again until I was 20 yrs old, a college friend of mine let me ride his 1980 500 Hawk. I was hooked again, and proceeded to buy a 1973 Yamaha RD350 that I found at a garage sale for 250 bucks. after alot of problems with a garage getting it saftied, I got two hours riding time on it before it died on me. (liscence expired due to no bike to take the M1 exit exam) Then bikeless untill this spring when I came across a friends brothers 1981 ( I was told, it was actually a 84) yamaha seca 400, which was being used for parts. My "free" bike ended up costing me the whole summer and quite a bit on parts but is now on the road. Also currently refurbishing an 83 Yamaha Maxim 650. although that wont be on the road til next summer.

I'm from the darkside...
I started bumming rides on friends minbikes when I was 5-6 and got my first bike, a '74 Indian 100 enduro. Really bad bike, but it always ran, right up until I exploded the rear wheel and swingarm. Even then, it still ran, just woudn't move. Started buzzin' 'round on little 80cc 2 strokes and have loved 2 strokes ever since. Bought a '78 IT 175 Yamaha and started hanging out at the track with it and beating alot of guys, so I got into motocross and went through a rapid succession of RM and YZ 80's and a couple of RM 100's and had YZ 125's supplied for me for 2 seasons, before I realized I didn't have the talent or the drive to make it as a pro. Since then, I have always ridden and sometimes hobby raced dirtbikes, mostly Hondas and Yamahas, until last year when I sold my much-loved CR-500. I'm going to be 40 next year and dirtbikin' was starting to hurt, even when I didn't crash.
Streetbikes have sorta been secondary to dirtbikes for me. I mostly always had one around, but when I went 'riding' it meant a day in the dirt. But I did my share of backroad burning, I had 2 different RD-350LC's that were a riot to ride. One went over backwards too fast, one too many times, and the other snapped the head off while jumping railway tracks in downtown Edmonton, in front of the hookers and dealers at 2 am..... I really love them bikes
...... rode an '84 Interceptor for a couple of seasons, that was a fun bike, but I gave it respect and never had an incident on it. Not a big one anyway...... A few XL-250-350's, DS125-175, ect.... basic dual purpose-style UJM's. Most of my riding was back road biltzing and latenight citystreet straffing runs..... riding on the street like I rode on the dirt. Bad for your health...... after I broke the RD in two, I stopped riding on the road for about 8 years. Stuck stricktly off road.
Now I got my old FJ-1200 and I like it quite abit, even though it still sits in my mind as an oldman's bike. And it's purple. It still handles very well, especially considering how much it weighs. And it freakin' hauls.....
It's not my last bike, but one that I think I want to keep around for longer trips. The next bike will be my GSXR streetfighter, but it might have to wait untill after I get a good starterbike for the wife. After she's done with it and decides on and buys another bike, I want to make a street tracker out of it, and I should be covered for bikes for awhile.
And that's one version of why I'm Buzz......
