Can anyone tell me is this a good bike for a beginner? Also my roomate weighs about 250 will I be able to have her ride on the back? I myself weigh 220. Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

That's a fine beginner bike, but you need not concern yourself with passenger carrying ability just yet. Get a few thousand miles under your belt as a solo rider before even considering taking a passenger, especially on a lighter bike such as that.

As for its ability, some will tell you tales of riding two-up cross-country on a Honda Rebel 250, but personally I prefer a heavier and more powerful bike for taking a passenger. The heavier and better balanced the bike is the harder it will be for a skiddish passenger to add undesired input to the bike's handling. As a 220lb guy myself, I wouldn't dream of taking someone as heavy as me (or heavier) on a bike that small.
