The return of Indian Motorcycle

#1 Unread post by RangerG »

I have been in touch by email with the director of the group that bought Indian. He told me that they expect to be ready to unveil the new bikes in late 2006. He also said that they expect to support all the Indians that are already out there. I am sure that others have already heard this, but I figured to put it in a post. Not sure what to expect from round three..or is it four..in the Indian Saga. This group also owns Chris Craft Boats.

Indian must be the zombie of M/C makers.... just won't stay dead.

I hope it goes better for them this time. (I hadn't heard they were going to try again.)

I suspect they are suffering from the same problems H-D has. Younger riders want sportbikes and not "old guy" bikes.

I suspect that thier most recent demise was more due to thier passing of S&S Harley clones with valanced fenders as Indians for twice the price of a factory Harley. There has been so much B.S. associated with that brand, from ripping of investors to selling Harley clones that I cannot imagine why anyone would want one....

That's fer sure. Let's just say it'd be a risky investment. The way I see it, at best Indian would occupy a tiny niche in a very competitive and dwindling cruiser market.
Let me get this straight... it's one down and four up, right?

Indian Motorcycles are cool 8)

In fact, I liked the full fenders of the Chief that I put one on my Harley once.
