Even today's advanced "O"-ring chains and "X"-ring chains are noisy and dirty, and require adjustments and replacements that shaft drives do not.markjpcs wrote: What are the benefits of shaft drive vs chain drive?
Sure they do...for every bike:markjpcs wrote: Suzuki does not list the MSRP on their web site.
C50 = $6,799.00
S50 = $6,499.00
M50 = $6,799.00/$6,899.00
Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic = $6,549.00
Honda Shadow VLX600 = $5,399.00
Honda Shadow Spirit 750 = $6,399.00
Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic = $5,999.00/$6,199.00
The C90 is comparable in no way to the Vulcan 800 Classic. For one thing, it's $10,449.00 and, for another thing, it's 1500cc's.markjpcs wrote: Is the C90 comparable in price to the Vulcan?

I'd put my money into the V-Star, I think, IMHO, that it's the best buy for your money.
Here's a comparison between 2004 Budget Cruiser Motorycles: Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster, Honda Shadow Aero 750, Kawasaki 800 Vulcan, Suzuki Intruder & Volusia 800s, Triumph Speedmaster, Yamaha V-Star 650
In this road test, it was between the top 800cc to 900cc class bikes, with the 650 V-Star thrown in because of the fsact that every time they road test the Star in it's own class, it takes 1st place. So they pitted it against the big boys... It didn't come first, but as the article says, it wasn't a loser in anyway. I think that the fact that it had to be put up against the next class of bikes before being knocked from 1st place says a lot for this bike.
