Another Noob

#1 Unread post by JDawg117 »

Hey guys. I'm another beginner and I'm looking for some information. I'd like some recommendations for my first bike. To help you out, I'll tell you a little about myself:

AGE - 14 (I'll turn 15 in late October)
HEIGHT - 5'9"
WEIGHT - 155 lbs.
LEG LENGTH - 3'
ARM LENGTH - 2' (not counting the hand)

That should be enough information. I went to our local ATV/Motorcycle dealership and the guy there said that I wasn't allowed to ride anything above a 250. He said that when I turn 16, however, I can ride whatever I choose. I suppose these are state regulations. I need someone to recommend me a good starter bike that's 250 or lower. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!

Check your local laws regarding mopeds and the like. Perhaps before you're legal on a motorcycle you can gain some experience on one of those. Afterwards, any 250cc streetbike should do fine, since they're all harmless.

there are plenty of 250s out there.

If you want a sportbike there is the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and Alphasports GT250

For cruisers there is the Honda Rebel 250, the Yamaha Virago, Alphasports GV250, Suzuki GZ250, Kawasaki 125 Eliminator.

If you want a standard there is the Honda nighthawk 250
