Weekend Ride

#1 Unread post by -Holiday »

My girlfriend and I put on about 300 miles over the weekend riding from our home in West Chester PA, to the beach at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I rode my Nighthawk and she rode my 76 Vespa Rally. I know some of you motorcycle types put down scooters, but I think they're great! It cruised with me at about 60 mph the entire trip. They are a bit little tricky in the wind though...

We took a scenic road that goes next to a bay for most of the ride.

The scooter actually got a lot of waves, even from Harley Riders! Some of them even didnt wave at me on my Honda, then waved at her!

Anyway, here's a pic, the rest can be found here:

p.s., i realize most of the pics are of her, but i thought you guys might find some enjoyment in these anyway :)

I like Vespas and other scooters a lot. I wanted to get one but they are expensive. Old UJMs are a lot cheaper and easier to find :)

That is great. The Vespa's have so much character, how could you not like them?

Brilliant, this is what motrocycling is all about. A real biker waits for his girlfriends Vespa. :kewl:
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

So yoiu came down here to Rehoboth and didn't meet up with me?

I live about 10 minutes from the beach.

Next weekend would have been better, It's the Delmarva Bike Week rally.

Thats a good shot of the cooling tower at Salem Nuclear Power Plant, and the photo off the bridge, that looks like the old St. George's Bridge over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.

Looks like a good time. Next time let me know your coming and we'll take a ride to a restaurant. My wife knows all the good ones.
