help choosing the best dual purpose enduro bike for LONG trp
I need help choosing a good enduro dual purpose bike for a trip me and 3 friends are making from Texas to the southern tip of argentina and back. 20,000 miles we're spreading out over 4 or 5 months. So far Everywhere I've read rants and raves about the KLR 650. Which is probably what I will end up getting. I just wanted some input from others on some other bikes out there (that aren't bmw's(toooo pricey)) I'm trying to get a used bike for under 4k for the journey so I can sell it and fly back if all hell breaks loose. so just list ANY bikes out there that would be good or decent for the trip. ADIOS!
I would say go for the KLR. There is strong aftermarket support along with a very active owners group. They can point you in the right direction as far as mods and farkles for your trip. The few weaknesses are well known and easily fixed to make them darn near bulletproof.
Sounds like a fun trip.

I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.
