Second fastest production car ever tested there. Eats the Viper for lunch. Faster than Ferrari Enzo, Lambo Murcielago, almost everything but a $300,000+ dollar Porsche GT something-or-other.

Not bad for a car under 70 grand, eh? 8)

Cars.. Yeha, i still like cars. cars to me are similar to motos. They're a toy and transportation. Can be fun when you want them to. It's the same thing with cars as motos though, you gotta start fairly tame and work your way up. Like it's be pretty stupid to give a new driver a RWD car in new england when he/she first get's a liscence in oh say september or october... recipe for disaster.

But i think a twin turbo Dodge Viper that runs 8 second 1/4 miles is in order...

OMG did you see the episode of Rides when they covered the factory race team doing the race there? Both had really bad issues (one blew out brakes, other hit) they were 14 laps behind when fixed.... and caught up and took the 2nd and 3rd spot. Just couldn't get up to that (i htink) Autin Martin.

I don't own a car....I will be forced to get a beater before the snow flies here in the snowbelt.... :(

I do like cars however....Image

This one was at a local show recently, has an 18 hp Honda V-twin in place of the original 9 hp Wisconsin single.

It's a '57 "King Midget".

I LIKE them just fine but they don't inspire the same passion in me that a motorcycle does. I care what my motorcycle looks like... but I don't really care what my car looks like. As long as it starts and keeps me warm and dry and moves me around I don't really care all that much about it. I drive a Subaru wagon - great car but I could have any of 25 other similar cars and it wouldn't much matter to me.

I've been a car nut alot longer than I've been into bikes.

I like sleepers. They go fast but don't look like they'd go fast.

Current ride is a '83 Saab 900 Turbo. I've had it for 2 years and have done many performance modifications and upgrades. I estimate the engine to have about 185 hp, but well over 200 ft/lbs of torque.

I'm not a street racer, but I have surprised alot of people when the turbo kicks in. :)

the corvette z06 is retailing above 70K, it costs chevrolet less than that to manufacture them which doesn't mean they will be sold at that price. the enzo kills the 206, top speed is 211 4 the enzo and 198 for the corvette. It doesn't "eat the viper 4 lunch" and the viper only loses out to the corvette be a couple tenths of a second. (0-60) and even less in the quarter mile. the corvette, powered on by it's 7 liter 505 horsepower engine is however, the craziest bang for buck deal to ever come out of the automotive industry, so u motorcycle dudes, don't blow all this "poo poo" 'cause there is always a car dude watching, even if he is 13 years old. I like sleepers too, and the saab 900 turbo is an amazing car, but my favorite sleeper is those sciroccos, volkswagens that kick a$$. u modify those tingys and they fly, fast.
Vroom-Vroom Good.

From Motor Trend: "The ultimate Corvettethe 2006 Corvette Z06is posting numbers at the track and on the window sticker that will get attention. Chevrolet has announced that the fastest Corvette everthe 505-horsepower Corvette Z06will achieve 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds while still in first gear, and pricing will start at $65,800, including destination and freight charges."

I was talking about the Nurburgring race course. Road racing, dude. The ZO6 DID beat the Enzo, and it DID eat the Viper for lunch. The Viper was more than 10 seconds slower around the course. A road race is the best display of overall performance, as acceleration, cornering, braking and to a lesser extent, depending on the track - top speed, all come into play. To beat cars the likes of the Farrari Enzo in such a venue with a car that retails for UNDER 70 grand (see above quote from Motor Trend) is a phenomenal accomplishment.
