I rode 30 miles to the nearest traffic light yesterday and did some errands in town. A big bug that was white and yellowish-green inside smeared right between my eyes. So I take out the all-purpose bandana to restore eyesight. Now I don't have a snot-rag. Or I do, but . . . .
SO do folks here carry a special rag for their face mask? Shirt tail? I'd hesitate to use a gas station paper towels. What works best?

I buy micro-fibre cloths that are safe to use on your shield. These are even safe to use on your glasses, just keep them clean. For bug splatter on faceshield or windshield, wet the cloth and gently scrub the bug guts away these are great to use as wash cloths as well, won't scratch your paint like some coarse rags do.

I keep a picket size spray can of Plexus and a flannel or microfiber towel in my bag... Soften up those dried on bugguts with a warm/wet paper towel first. Just lay the wet towel on and let it sit for a couple minutes.
Buy those yellow flannel car detail rags from the auto dept of Target/Walmart, etc. Keep one in your tank bag.
DO NOT use paper products on your face shield. Those wood fibers scratch (you do know that paper towels are made from wood fibers) and those cheapy gas station paper towels are probably the closest to the original wood product of all - remember car windshields are GLASS and more scratch resistant.
