Brand Spanking New SV650S

#1 Unread post by macktruckturner »

I'm on R&R right now, unfortunately there's a Hurricane with my house in it's sights. That required (or at least made it rational) an evacuation. I wasn't about to leave my motorcycle behind, so I rode it up to College Station with my family following in their cages (my Dad had already brought his Goldwing up to CS).

The bike is great, it handled the trip real well. I know I defied conventional wisdom by hoping on and taking a 100mile trip on the highway during an evacuation for my first ride in 6 years, but oh well.

I can't say enough good stuff about the SV650S, I love my bike. The fairing doesn't offer a whole lot of protection unless you tuck in, but the wind isn't too bad. You can lean over and be sporty on it, or sit straight up, and it doesn't mind one bit.

Cool Bike! Glad you made it to CS okay. I would have done the same thing with a brand new bike. Hope your home comes through it okay.

BTW - Excellent color choice!

Surely that picture was taken just to show off the bike, what with no jacket, no gloves, and loafers on your feet  . It is a nice ride though :D

Oh yes. the SV650S is one awesome bike, I should know! Enjoy the bike and I hope the Hurricance misses your house.

I hope your leather jacket, boots, and gloves just arent in the picture.

correct, I have a leather jacket, and riding gloves, as well as leather boots - which are all worn if I'm doing anything but moving the bike out of the way for my Mom to get her cage out of the driveway (as is the case in that picture). I spent the last 8 months in Iraq, no sense getting dead on R&R b/c I didn't feel like wearing a jacket. Texas heat ain't got a damn thing on Iraq heat.

Excellent choice, wrong color choice though:

If you're just learning again I would recommend frame sliders plus with the black frame they don't look obnoxious. I've done many cosmetic mods except for the lowers which almost make it look like a GSXR hybrid.
