Hey, folks! Here's and artist's rendering in paintbrush. I'm considering removing the rear fender, and probably will...seems like a no brainer once i drew it up. Also, I'm thinking about extending the seat cover onto the cowling, ala cafe' racer. I also will probably have the upholsterer make the cushion, as I'm not getting the right combo of firmness with my scrounged materials. He showed me foam and batting material yesterday that will mimic stock while still screaming custom. He estimates $90 for the entire seat construction...covering. I'm starting to talk myself into it after seeing this rough drawing over the original photo. I did get the cover quite smooth after this photo was taken, but I've dismantled the seat to work the paint some more...fixing light damage from messing around with the seat cover. Doing the cover extension makes it pretty complicated, so It's beyond my ability at this point. here's the first assembly, I rode around on for a few days...

Here's the artist's rendering with fender removed, and seat cover different. This opens the possibility of an undertail, too...Hmmm..

That's the money shot! Looks great with the fender reomoved. Where to mount the liscense plate though.

Dare I say it would look even cooler if the tail was mounted a bit lower with the fender removed?

With the rear fender off, I'll make a "fender eliminator" out of steel plate. This can easily be glassed into the seatpan, under the cowling, and will have the necessary holes/bracketry to mount my custom taillights (not yet found) and plate bracket (in use now). That way, I can keep all the stock parts safe in storage just in case I ever want to put it back that way.

Definately lose the fender and clean up the backend. It's luverly

Just photoshop all the pictures, that way the majority of the world thinks its airbrushed really cool, and only those who accutlly see the bike in person know better.

I really like how its turning out, losing the fender does help the look for sure. It's gonna be interesting to see how you get the lights mounted and how they turn out. Nice work!

Edit: I just noticed the tank is black in the concept with the airbrushing. Do you plan to repaint the tank and side covers? Because the black would look really nice IMHO.

Glad you asked... I may change the whole thing to look like this...



Until I make the cafe'-style tail, I probably will paint the side covers and tank all black anyway.
