I normally don't like reality tv, but I did enjoy RockStarINXS. Particularly the performances. I couldn't care less about what goes on away from the stage.

For those that didn't see it, it was exactly like Canadian/Amercian Idol except there was a real band, excellent songs and excellent performers. Instead of teenagers singing karaoke.

First single, 'Pretty Vegas' comes out October 4 on Itunes, new album 'Switch' comes out November 29, and their world tour kicks off in the US in January.

Having already heard Pretty Vegas a couple times on the show, I'll definitely be getting that one when it comes out. Very kick "O Ring" song that rocks in classic INXS style (lyrics by JD Fortune, music by Andrew Fariss, written for the show)

I'll be watching the concert listings like a hawk over the next several weeks to find the closest show - even if it's in someplace like Seattle, I'll be trying to get a decent ticket and drive down if I have to.

I hate reality shows but seeing as I used to like the band, I watched.....and it was pretty damned good. They picked the wrong dude at the end however. The serious Marty-guy wrote better songs and was the better rock star. He needs to hook up with the house band on a full time basis. I think that combo has more potential than the emotional pretty boy-led INXS......

Marty didn't really have the voice or the style for a band like INXS. He would fit better in a band like Nirvana or any of the other Seattle Grunge/Punk style bands.

While JD wasn't my first choice either (I would have preferred to see Suzie McNeil get the gig), his vocal and performance styles fit INXS better than Marty.

JD's song Pretty Vegas is a better song than Marty's 'Trees' as well. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out after being refined in the studio with a band that is as tight and polished as INXS.

And I do agree, the house band was damn good.

Hate Canadian/American/British/Stupid Idol shows, But I did really dig the Rock Star thing this summer. The performances were just great, and the house band was greatly underappreciated.

Each one of the contentders could be fronting thier own band, and don't really need this contest except for publicity. In particular, I never thought of INXS as being a 'supergroup', and wonder if this isn't kind of a 'booby prize' for many, who could have better careers elsewhere.
