I noticed my rear brake on the 83' Honda cbx stopped responding suddenly. I checked the pads. They had plenty o'meat on them. I then bled the rear and had my rear brakes again. The bike sat for a few days and the brakes have returned to the prior no-performance state. I checked the reservoir and the fluid is at the low mark- the way it was after I bled them. The fluid looks good too. Very clean, clear and without discoloration.
What do ya'll think it could be?

I cannot imagine fluid loss without you noticing it . Not having discs on the rear of my scoot and not having that problem with my front disc leaves me without an answer for you . Betcha someone will be along shortly with some theories tho .

I didn't see any loss of fluid.I bled the brakes and the fluid dropped down to the low level mark in the reservoir and has stayed at that point. I just hadn't filled it yet to the max line.
Could it be that road conditions bounced a little air back into the lines since the fluid wasn't at the max level?

OK!! I finally got back to the brakes and re-bled the rear after topping the reservoir up. Then refill. Seems to be working fine now after a few days. I bled the front too. They seem to need flushing but I'll get around to'em eventually.
Seems MIN on a reservoir really means "fill to MAX or no brakes".
