Problem is we are trying to turn every conunty into a democracy. Meanwhile the rest of the world is laughing at us. Maybe because they know someth jack@ss Bush does not. Really, is the President so dumb as to not know the reason they attacked the trade was because that coward stuck his nose where it did not belong! Even terrorists have motives for doing their evil acts! I'm so pissed at Bush I wish some gay guy would give it to him up the @ss to ahow him what we are feeling!

That's worrying for the concept of democracy!

Everyone tells me that the UK is a democracy. But how can we be? We don't have occupying forces on UK soil killing our citizens, or permanent military bases full of foreign troops controlling our lives, or some distant presidental government or other dictating the terms of our constitution, rigging our voting system and controlling every aspect of our economic activity.

OR DO WE?????? :scared:

I shoulda put a smilie on that, because, while it may represent his true attitude, was meant as sarcasm.

The grass is always greener dude.

There are alot of benefits to other countries, but there are alot of downsides as well.

I will stay here in the United States of America where I don't have to fight the enemy on our own soil. And I hope it stays that way for a long time. That our children can grow up in a free America. Just my thoughts.

Imagine what could have happened if the money we have spent on a stupid and pointless war was spent on finding ways to NOT have to use middle east oil. Our best solution is to find a way to break our dependence on their oil, at which point we can tell them what to go do with themselves.

The primary mistake in this whole situation was getting involved in middle eastern politics in the first place, if we had just stayed the hell out of there in the first place then the arabs would still be killing each other just like they have for the last 8,000 years without dragging the rest of the world into it. War has always been a part of middle eastern culture and that part of the world has been a warzone since the earliest days of Mesopotamia

I'd settle for a leader who actually considered it his duty to uphold the constitution and do the RIGHT THING for the people of America FIRST and worry about those outside our borders second (or third, or fourth, or...) I could care less if he's a complete bumpkin or hick. As long as he or she is doing their absolute best to do what they percieve as the RIGHT thing for the nation.

The only thing any 1st term president cares about is a 2nd term. The only thing a 2nd term president cares about is leaving a legacy.

There was this one time, a few years back, maybe you've even heard of it, called 9/11? Those 3000 people were all children of someone who thought they would grow up in a free America and that we were all safe here on domestic soil.

Thank goodness we now have the wonderful patriot act though to help relieve us of some of those burdensome civil liberties we once had. Of course, all in the name of security though! I know I feel a hell of a lot more secure knowing the government can tap my phones anytime they want without proper cause and that airlines are searching toddlers for bombs because they have muhammed in their name.
