I'm one of those that hear all abnormal sound from cars, bikes... And go crazy, if I can't find where it's coming from. I've been hearing a tapping sound coming from the front of the bike, I think. Only when the bike is moving, do I hear this. Any suggestion on how to isolate the sound?
i have had the same problem before--it was a clicking sound while rolling--it was front disc brake pad rattling--removed pads and put some Disc Brake Quiet on back of pads--cured problem.
If it is detectable at low speeds, have a friend listen while you ride around the parking lot (parking lot required), or ride slowly back and forth in the street (no parking lot required ). The friend may be able to at least narrow it down for you. Or you could lift the front with a come-along or block and tackle, and shake things or spin the wheel until you find it.

Interesting, what is that?
I'm going try the lift idea first.
it is a silicone based paste sold at any automotive parts store to stop disc brake pads from squealing and rattling.if it is the pads you wont find it by jacking front end up and turning wheel--take it for a ride and when the noise starts lightly apply front brake and see if it stops making noise.if it does then it is the pads rattling.p.s.the paste goes on the back of the pads--dont get any on pad area.
