I let the bike ride the bump with me out of the seat. I just stand on the pegs for that small time the bike goes over the bump.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

In the MSF course, they teach riding over 2 x 4s. I have always found it easier to rise up off the seat by way of the footpegs and let your legs work as shock absorbers.
