in theory, if a gel seat for a 2004 sv650 works on a 2005 model, would the 2004 or five seat work on the new 2006 model?
people do this with cars all the time, but bikes seem a little more... exclusive toward their parts, and there is literaly NO market for 2006 accessories (probably wont be till 2006 anyway)

There's really no way to know for sure until the 2006 model comes out (unless you have contacts in Japan). Bike manufacturers change stuff from year to year. They're just cranking up production on the 2006 models, so the aftermarket parts folks aren't going to be selling 2006 parts until they get their hands on them. It could be that last year's seat will be fine for next year's bike. Or maybe not.
