A 125 will not be legal (or recommended) for use on the interstate and will be lucky to maintain 65mph. The Eliminator sells for ~$2,500 and there are plenty of good beginner bikes in that price range on the used market. Look for a Virago 250 or a Vulcan 500. The latter may even keep you happy for a season or two.

Look, no BS, I would not be caught dead riding a Virago 250, there is a line in the sand about what ya can be seen on and what not to be...and the Virago 250 is way way way over that line... not kool

a couple of the lads on here are running around on Alpha Sport 250's, cant remember the model they have but they have been seriously pleased with them, even when there are other Bikes available to ride.

Alpha Sport are Korean, but the Bikes are made under licence to Suzuki, so you get a decent Japanese Bike for pretty much Korean prices.

There are two Cruisers, but my personal favorite is the 'GT250 Naked' - its so priddy... :D

They seem to go new for somewhere between $3,799.95 and $3,999.95

It works out to between $3,234 - $3,401CDN at current exchange rates. What's so bad about that?

Okay...if the $3,799.95 to $3,999.95 range is American, wouldn't the Canadian equivelant be higher, not lower?

Furthermore, regardless of which range is American and which is Canadian, isn't that a bit pricey for a Korean 250? Or any 250 for that matter? Usually Korean products are cheaper, not more expensive than the competition. And who would drop close to $4000.00 for a Korean quality 250?

3,799 for the alpha is NOT a good deal for a 250. you can get a kawi ninja 250 for 2,999 brand new

Holy Cow* thats like only £1,695.79 or something!!! Even the entry model Eliminator is like £2,299 over here. (The Eliminator is the only Kawasaki product less than 600cc's here)

Against our prices the Alpha Sport (Hyosung) is bang on where they should be.

Thats it I'm now going to spend the rest of the day bringing that up to people, thats unbelievable... If I liked the Ninja I'd be trying to bring one bck into the country with us...

£1,699? Thats like our spending money for Holiday... Unbelievable...

*A reference to St Kenelm, a 12thC saint who died near Birmingham. The Cow, a red one, stood guard over his grave until envoys from the Pope appeared on the scene. Hence why there are so many Pubs called the Red Cow in the Midlands.
