Security Chains and Padlocks (UK)

#1 Unread post by MarkyPancake »

I have a Datatool System 3 and I want to get a chain so I can secure my bike to things, but I don't know how much I should spend or which brand to get.

I've been looking at various ones: Datatool Python, Oxford Monster, Motrax etc and am looking for one that is 1.5m to 2m in length, so I have more than enough for different situations.

Do you get what you pay for, so would it be better to pay more for a Thatcham Approved one?

I'm interested in what you all think.

I don't know much, but you'll probably find a thatcham approved one, will lower your insurance

As nibblet said - anything that is Thatcham aproved (especially gold standard) does make at least a small difference to your insurance.

Oxford are a well known make, and do several things in this range.

Looks like you made a good choice!

make sure you mention it on your insurance, as is Thatcham approved - and let us know how much (if any) difference it makes!
