Back on the road!
After nearly a week of not riding, I got out there and tested my seat cushion. I rode 67 miles with no seat-related comfort issues. The riding position is slightly different, but handling seems even better than after the drag bar installation. The bike is about 8 pounds lighter with this seatpan/tailpiece. No more steel seat and steel fender and huge taillight bracket. I may be rusty, but it really seems like I'm hitting redline a little quicker. Any discomfort from the rearranged position seems to have worked itself out as I got used to it. BTW, the view as I came out of the gas station was way above my expectaions! Liking the looks better all the time!
Ride safe...God bless!

CHeck out the everything else forum...I've been builing this tailpiece. The project has turned a couple of different directions, and turned into a complete re-paint (almost...wil be when the front fender is done).
Before...

After...

That's the current status...seat not finished yet, still testing the comfort.

that looks pretty neat! I'll have to check out your other thread. To be honest though, I think I liked your old paintjob better though...but to each his own!
I've been looking for a front fairing like that, except my nighthawk has a square headlight so not many people make one. Rifle makes one, but its like $300
Anyway, nice work! Looks great!

Thanks! When it's actually finished, I'll get some pics with the Kawasaki emblems in the sun. It's a really nice effect in good light, with the alloy shining in contrast to the black tank. Also on the horizon...exhaust repaint, engine guard repaint, frame touch-ups. Swingarm license bracket paint. Still alot of little details, but it's rideable.
