I couldn't agree more - when I get back from Iraq - the SV gets an M4 pipe and rear-fender eliminator.

Gotta love the sound of the SV too. They sound damn nice.

Been looking at either an SV650, 599, or FZ6 for a second bike. Want to find a beater to learn on first.

I prefer the look of the totally naked SV or the full faired european version of the S. Dont like the half faired SV. Though the Full faired euro bike looks damn nice.

Suzuki sells the other half of the fairing, if you have an extra $400 or so.

The 599 is better on build quality, but give that Suzi a look. It's as popular in the States as the Hornet 600 is in Europe, and for good reason. I literally lined up an SV-650 against the 919 when I was shopping. The Suzi is better handling on technical courses, and you get the midrange torque, due to the V-twin. But when I put the two bikes side by side I bought the Honda. My 919 was made in Japan, btw, I think the 599s imported to the States are built in Italy.

They're both great bikes, but line them up side by side.
