i had a noise at low rpm clunking
i took clutch basket out and noise went away.
now i measured the clutch springs and there fine.
but the friction plates Are below specs.
and theres a lot of movement when the basket is assembled
between the friction discs and the clutch plates they just kind of move back and forth.not at the teeth but all the discs themselves.is that normal or is that because there worn?
granted i put it back on the motorcycle for a brief period with the cover off and ran it and and made noise,but i also dont have the pressure plat bolted on either.
now with the snap ring on i pulled in and out on it and it moved a bit,i dont have a dial indicator but the spec. is .004 in. and it seemed like it moved more than that just guessing.
should i just put new discs in and do the the plates come with the friction discs?should i replace both?
install get a dial indicator and see how much thrust play i have and shim it or is there something im overlooking.
just would like to have a little input.
