...don't forget mission impossible 2 for that one too (x2) they weren't shiny by the tme they were done though... they just had the magic tires.WhyteGryphon wrote:A blazingly fast streetbike on the slickest possible tires can zip through brush and loose foliage in the woods, weaving in and out of trees and jumping fallen logs with the greatest of ease and still come out shiny at the other end of the dirt road. This thread kinda makes me want to go rent Torque... it would probably just "pee" me off just as much as "Driven" did though.

And the magic gas tanks - it was really neat to see bullet holes appear in the side of the Speed Triple's tank, looking for all the world like punctured metal - which is neat, considering the tank is made of plastic.mysta2 wrote:... they just had the magic tires.
Anyone remember Stone Cold? With that swollen ex-football star (Bosco? Bozo?... something like that)? One of my favourite scenes is when the badass bike gang leader empties a full Uzi clip trying to shoot a beer can off one of his flunkie's shoulders... and nobody in the crowd directly behind the flunkie gets hit.

It isn't WHAT you ride,
It's THAT you ride

Not to mention that when Tom Cruise does one of his reach-over-the-shoulder-and-shoot-da-bad-guy moves and he hits the windhield of the Sprint ST chasing him. The plastic shield made a big glass shattering smash when hit. It was so bad, yet I couldn't look away....... 'tis only a movie afterall....Gummiente wrote:And the magic gas tanks - it was really neat to see bullet holes appear in the side of the Speed Triple's tank, looking for all the world like punctured metal - which is neat, considering the tank is made of plastic.mysta2 wrote:... they just had the magic tires.

You can effortlessly pick up the back end of a street bike and use it as a weapon (Torque).
rofls, the scene through the trees was awsome. My friend Joh thought they could actually pull that off. He didn't believe me when i said a XR650R would toast them on terrain like that.

In the Buffy the Vampire movie a large Harley turns into something akin to a honda C90 scooter when she jumps off it...
Obviously couldnt afford to crash the somewhat more expensive harley....

Don't give up.
Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.
If you never give up, you can never truly fail.

You mean the roadtire - offroad tire - rod tire sequence...mysta2 wrote:...don't forget mission impossible 2 for that one too (x2) they weren't shiny by the tme they were done though... they just had the magic tires.
I was bored enough to go through it in slowmo to figure out where they did the switch...
That said I liked the stunts in themselves and wish I rode half as well as that...
Torque just annoys me...
