1984 virago, xv700, one cylander drops out

I have a 1984 yamaha virago xv700, was running great when I put away for the winter, and yes I did treat the gas with Sea Foam. Now it is spring and I started and it purred like a kitten at a idol, but as soon as I let the clutch out, I lose the front cylender totally. If I persist and run it down the road ( hoping no one I know will see me) it will start to run normal around 3 to 4 K rpm, anything over 4 k and under 3 k I lose the the front cylander. I have replaced the spark plugs, check the gas lines to be sure they are not plugger or kinked, added carb cleaner, even took the advice of a mechanic and put 1 cup of automatic transmission fluid in a full tank of gas. The ironic thing is, I have a friend with a 1995 virago that is haveing the very same problem only it is his rear cylander. Got any idea's?,

Bad plug, lead or coil on that jug. That's what I'd look at first, anyway.

My initial reaction is that it's an electrical problem. I had a similar incident and it turned out to be a faulty spark plug. I know you said you replaced the plugs, but pull it and check to see what kind of spark you are getting ...
