Don't the Hell's Angels call themselves a motorcycle club?

I'm trying to get around the iconography of clubs. This is what I've picked up from reading and talking to other bikers. The club I belong to is a 'front patch club' because, if any of us wear the club badge at all (which isn't often), we wear it on the front of our gear not the back. (The club sells T-shirts, baseball caps, stickers etc with the club logo on it.) It's just a small circular logo, not the large symbol with upper and lower rockers that you get with back patch clubs.

We are also an MCC (motor cycle club). This defines us as a sport and leisure club. A club that is an MC(motorcycle club) usually have back patches and are generally a gang, or a club with more than just a common interest in motorcycles. The Hells Angels are an MC.

Complicated? Some guys, I'm told, take this very seriously. If you want to stay in one piece you do not get these distinctions mixed up. So, I'm hanging on to that extra 'C'. But bugger it! I just want to ride my bike with some mates.

My Aunt and Uncle belong to a club called the Retreads, gotta be over 40 to join. On the first and third sunday of every month there is a planned ride to some reasonably close restaurant for that is known for good food. Usually about a 5-6 hour round trip. Other then that some of them are friends outside of the club.

Everyone is really nice and no one is involved in anything illegal, just a bunch of people who love to ride.

The Hell's Angels are not only a club, they're also a corporation. Trademarked logos and all.

I don't know what the "bikers" are like in North America, but in Australia all the "bikers" I've met are rather nice, easy going people. Including Rebels MC, Outlaws MC and some Nomads...

I remember a non-incident where some Nomads were removed from a local club for being "rowdy" and the next night 15 police cars showed up to keep the peace. Totally unnesessary though, just the local big business leaning on local law enforcement because they were afraid two blokes would turn into 200.

I work in a late-night Turkish Kebab / Pide joint inbetween three clubs and a pub. Bikers are defiantely not on my list of people I don't want to serve. Besides, 2 customers might turn into 200, right?

Of course the other way to look at this is in the same way you'd look at any organization that you were considering joining.....

Do they do what you want to do.

If the group you're looking into only ride to a bar and get drunk but you'd rather go for rides that last for a few hours stopping only for coffee and bathroom breaks, then move on until you find the group that also enjoys that.

Yes!

We also serve with Tomato sauce (Ketchup), BBQ, Homous, Sour Cream, Sweet Chilli and Hot Chilli sauce. Our Kebabs are supreme.
