huh?
huh?
sidecar on a bike makes no wink-wink sense. The *whole point* of a motorcycle is the agility and manuverability. If you're considering a sidecar, you might as well get a car and be done with it. That, and Urals look like circa-1940s dynasaurs.
oh yeah, I'm russian, yet I will be the first to say that all the russian bikes are fugly.

sorry, wrong thread.
sorry, wrong thread. I suck at this inernet thing

Sorry Eugene, but you are half-way wrong. I am also Russian, and those Urals are BMW's yes you heard me BMW's fromt he 1930's.
After WW2 russia moved entire factories to Russia from Germany. Those are German bikes built with German machinery. And as far as the andling goes, for alot of people its a mode of transprtation not a large fast toy...

Uncle Bob Touched me!
I know that
yep. and they haven't updated the style since 1930 either. No wonder they look like dynasaurs.those Urals are BMW's yes you heard me BMW's fromt he 1930's.

[looks up the specs]
Let's see:
power: 40 HP
torque: 38 ft-lbs
recommended max speed: 95 km/h (62 mph)
that's with a 745cc engine!
yep. just as I expected

My first bike as a LS650 that pumped out
33hp and 20 some ft/lbs of torque, are you saying that isn't good enough?
Biking isn't about having a bigger engine or going to fastest. If that's what you think, you probably shouldn't be on one in the first place.
A real biker wouldn't be knocking any bike. The fact someone is willing to put themselves out there on two wheel is reason enough to respect them and their ride.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Re: I know that
Look up the specs for the Wolf and the Retro Solo - you'll find the top speed is higher because the heavy sidecar has been removed. But if you're looking at a Ural for speed and performance you really need to learn more about bikes first.ninja79 wrote:Let's see:

And FWIW, I'm part Russian, too.

It isn't WHAT you ride,
It's THAT you ride
