I'm sure collisions with buildings, trees, and bodies of water would reduce speed..... :)

THe site is a bit optimistic. I read someplace that nobody has ridden such a beast yet. They are looking for adventurous people

How do you slow a helicopter down? Must be the same principle since this thing they are talking about is considred vertical takeoff and landing.

It's only a dream though, however todays dreams may be tomorrows reality.

I'd be willing to give it a shot.

and given that it uses a ducted fan instead of an overhead rotating blade, slowing down would be much easier - deployable airbrakes, plus rotation of the thrust vectoring nozzles to bring yourself to a stop. Would be immensely maneuverable, as long as it had proper airfoil surfaces - The BAC Harrier uses this system to make it the most maneuverable fighter aircraft around.

If I could afford it I'd buy it in a heartbeat...course I'd probably only have one or two heart beats left. It seems amazing all around, don't think we'll see it allowed anytime in the majority of our lifetimes though. Can you imagine the idiot's in the air...

I have a funny image of parking on top of an annoying cager with that though...
