next time when you crawl around a good bit mash the clutch in and rev it up to blow the junk out of the exhaust.if the instructor knows anything about 2 strokes she will know what you are doing.

Clock another one up on the learning curve. By the way most instructers hide behind their arrogance becuase of their lack of knowledge. You will know the good ones straight away by their willingness to interact with you and their nothing to prove attitude. Good luck, keep going. Only you can make it happen and if you do it uphill then the reward is even better.

this being said, i vote for a new riding school. it may cost you more money, but in the end it may be worth it. Try going to another school and talkinng to the instructer, see what kind person s/he is. ie, arrogent, easy going, knowledgable,etc.

Hi, Henrietta. What I'm about to say, I know you will take the way I mean it. You have shown yourself to be extraordinary in many ways here on the site. It is possible you inadvertantly intimidated the female instructor with your clear grasp of some of the less delicate issues in this sport. Not on purpose, I'm sure. Here's the hard to say part...you know how women can be. No offense intended at all, but I think you should find a course with a laid-back guy teaching. As a flight instructor in the Air Force, I never had to instruct women because of the jet I flew in. I knew guys who did, though. They pretty much thought women had more trouble teaching women than men did. These are both machine-related activities, so maybe a guy will be more helpful and get you done with better training. I know you can do this...hope this helps...we're all rooting for you!

I also wanted to say women make fine teachers. It just seems like the student teacher relationship is a little more complex when they are both women, from my experience.

Well, I've ended up rebooking with another firm, who do 1:1 training, police trained, and their cost happens to be £65 for the CBT, no matter how long it takes. i.e no further charge if there are additional days/hours needed. They are a few further miles out but are who I originally pondered when thinking about lessons and DAS test.

The other place were charging £55 for additional training; they can stuff that up their @rse, I'm afraid. I've been in touch with the DSA (driving standards agency) and trading standards. Will ring them back and tell them DSA state that for the CBT it has to be one fee for no matter how much training it takes - but I'm familiar with the boss's style, lots of bla bla blah and with answers as slippery as a slippery thing...

1:1 training is the best training there is. good luck, you'll get it this time. Just don't be too nervous, keep your eyes up, and trust the bike. you'll be

in no time.

Awww no way, just logged on to find out how you'd done.

It sucks. The things you say she failed you on shouldnt even be an issue on the CBT - I failed to use the clutch a lot on my CBT, stalled the bike out a few times and covered the brakes.

The reasons she is giving you smell.*

This other firm sounds a lot better but it sucks you are out of pocket. Possibly they thought that as a training rider you wouldnt know any better.

It really does sound like they are out for the money in your pocket, and thats it.
