Leather Vs Textile

I'm going to have to go with both. For everyday riding, I will always have my Aerostich Roadcrafter on. Waterproof, windproof, impact and abrasion protection and super-fast to zip in to. From my research (none of it firsthand, thank God), it should keep me fairly well protected up to 100 MPH get-offs or so, and I rarely even approach that speed, so I should be fine.

When I finally get around to buying into a track bike with some friends, it's going to be a leather suit, all the way. I can afford to be uncomfortable and spend more time getting into a suit if it's going to save my skin if I take a spill over 100 MPH.

I have my thick leather biker jacket on every time I get on the bike... but those textile rainsuits are looking mighty sweet since it started raining around here - they sure look warm and dry...

well, i have 1 leather jacket, 1 mesh jacket, and 1 pair of mesh pants.

I prefer leather...because it protects better, but during very hot SoCal days, I wear the mesh. During normal days I wear the leather jacket and textil pants over jeans....still looking to get some leather pants.

I wear both, it depends on the weather. When the weather is not too cold I'll wear a textile jacket with chaps. I have a leather jacket too, but my textile jacket is just so warm AND waterproof I doubt I'll ever wear my leather. I also have armored pants, I just don't really like wearing them. My gloves are always leather.

but anyway. i just bought a frank thomas jacket and gloves that are textile because the cost, fit, and i liek thye way they look. i may get leathers too esp. when it gets colder out because my $150 leather blazer that i wear to the office is a lot warmer in windy condition then my $500 Northface shell. i definatly think its a personal decision and any protection is better than none if you part ways with your cycle.

I have a Joe Rocket Ballistic. It's mostly textile with leather down the sleeves and sides.

I like leather but just think it's too hot for summer riding.

I have a leather jacket and a textile jacket. Both are amored and I feel equally protected in both. Both have removable liners as well...As the weather warms up I'm sure I'll develop a preference

I've got 3 jackets and 4 pairs of pants... all textile. Less expensive than leather and having crashed in my first set of textile gear, I am 100% confident that it offers more than adequate protection.

Its MACHINE WASHABLE! And for wearing in MD where summer can get quite steamy, washability is very important.

For me it is Leather because well for the most part that is what I grew up on and the Textile well it look o.k. and all I am not sure I can change my ways or not. But My wife is thinking of buying some becaseu she says here leathers get to hot when she is on her bike. For me heat is not a real problem when riding it is when I stop that I have a problem but that is when I come to a stop sign or light or know the traffice is going to be stop and go that is when I zip my jacket down and then when I get going good again I zip it back up.
