I dropped it....

#1 Unread post by vulcanman500 »

Well. sad to say , I dropped my Hurricane. It was totaly stupid. We have a two car garage. The caddy sits on the left and our bikes are on the right. WEll....the front tire of the honda was a little close to the car door, so I decide to move it. All was well until I looked down to move the air hose from under my foot. When i looked up the bike was just beyond the balance point. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Did I think I could save...Yes , DID i save... uhh no. As Grabbed the tank and the seat as it began to fall away from me! It landed on the tool box and scratched the tank. I went to pick it up and it slid on the nice smooth , NOn-biker friendly floor. Then I notice something is leaking . I go to pick it up again and as I step in the fluid my foot slides out and i drop the bike again while falling ON it this time. I almost cried. I hated it . Finally i propped my front wheel against the wheel of the car and lifted it and rolled it forward so i would avoid scratching the car. This is the worst tip ive had. I didn't even wanna ride after that.

Bummer.
But at least it wasn't on the road where it could have been worse and you got hurt.
And, no one saw you, right?

That bites dude. I almost dropped mine the other day in almost the same circumstances. I knew i liked lite bikes for a reason. I was able grab it before it hit. If it would have been a bigger bike I'd be singing the same tune as you.

Aw man it was embarressing. Even when no one was around. Who knows. The garage door was open, so my neighbor could've been laughing her head off. I guess we all take afew blows here and there. 8)

I get my bike tomorrow (or, I get it and then the H-D dealer gets it to overhaul).

Before it comes home, I think I am going to look into spraying some non-skid on half the garage floor. (I can learn from other's mistakes.0

When I was taking the motorcycle safty course, I just got off the bike without putting down the kickstand. :frusty: Not only did I hurt my knee as I hit the pavement trying to catch it as it fell, I did it in front of the entire class of about 25 people . The bike and I both survived :)

Well said! Actually I'm glad he didn't get between the car and bike with it falling the other way. In other words, glad he's okay...besides, we're repainting the bike anyway, and have a perfect tank for it, too. Buzz, I think he found a different paint scheme, but thanks, anyway.
Ride safe...God bless!
