Mesh vs. Textile: What's the difference?

#1 Unread post by kabob983 »

Question, what is the difference between Mesh and Textile materials in jackets? Does one have a clear advantage? Which offers better protection? Which is warmer/cooler in general? Which generally lasts longer?

Mesh is textile... with holes in it.

They are supposed to be about the same, but it seems to me it would be easier to tear a hole in fabric woven with holes in it.

Make sure you get at least 620 denier.

Mesh will be a lot colder.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Number of threads used to make it. More is better.

Same difference, you explained it better.

In the long run the bigger number is better :D
