I hope not. I mean I guess I hope not - I wouldn't want to wish that on anyone whether I knew them or not. I've heard she's gonna be ok. I imagine this is one of those accidents that make it really tough to get back on the horse. I'd like to know how long she's been riding.scanevalexec wrote:Wonder if it is anyone we know. Full Interview
I watched the full video interview on the website. It's about 18 minutes long. Here's a brief summary of some of the information.....
She was riding a Suzuki DRZ in full armored gear in the early morning hours. She is a reporter for a womens website and mother of 5. She was on her way to interview fellow female motorcyclists for a story. She says that she was traveling at about 20 mph and felt the rear tire start to slide. She lost control and knew that she was going to go over the rail. She remained calm throughout the incident including during the 50 foot fall into the water. The gear helped to keep her afloat and, her scarf and full face helmet prevented water from getting inside the helmet while she was submerged. After surfacing, she removed her helmet and called for help. When nobody appeared on the road, she saw a log and swam on her back to the log. She got herself onto the island and a man appeared on the roadway to tell her that help was on the way. She did not have any broken bones or other injuries other than "bumps and bruises" despite reports that she had fractures. She had many years of experience riding off road but, this was her first street bike. She had just purchased the motorcycle in June of this year. She plans on riding again.
