I have it on good authority that after the first 3 sips it no longer matters.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

@ 4 oz vodka
@ 4 oz guava juice
@ 4 oz cranberry juice
@ 4 oz 7-up

Amounts are only estimates and you may want to adjust to taste--I half- fill a 20-oz tumbler with ice cubes before adding ingredients. Two of these will make you think [if you are average non-clinical alcoholic] about bed-time. It tastes a lot like cranberry juice, and can be guzzled the same way.
I used to make the same thing minus the guava juice back when I lived in Vegas. Please, anyone looking to try this, do yourself a favor and buy a decent vodka! Skyy is the cheapest you should use, but you really should spring for Grey Goose or Kettle One and keep it in the freezer.

It probably doesn't matter after the first three gulps........It tastes fine to me using el cheapo Gordons, so I save money by being old, with burned-out tastebuds. 8)

If you want good vodka at a good price try getting yourself some stolichnaya. Straight over from Germany, cheaper then smirnoff and with a better taste. Then again, I hate vodka with a passion.

It's not just about the taste (although that's hugely important), rather it's about not feeling like shizzle the next morning. Quality vodka will not cause a hangover.

"Good" and "Stolichnaya" do not belong in the same sentence. Throw a bottle in the freezer, guess what happens.....that's right, it freezes.

Yuck! :x

While Grey Goose is one of the best Vodka's I've ever had, it also retails up here for over $40 a bottle. Stoli however goes for 22.99 compared to smir's 24.99

Working at a liquor store for 5 months with the requisit testing tasting approving recomending that comes with it has provided me with a deep seated hate of vodka, and an aversion to booze in general (you only can only see so many alcoholics without becoming scared of it) I have had the knowledge beaten into me. For the price there is no better then Stoli. Especially if you're using it for mixing.

Couldn't a hangover be considered a form of aversion therapy?

You Vodka snobs are killin' me. Madison Avenue is doing a fine job indeed. It wasn't very long ago that the finest restaurants in NYC had Stoli on the top shelf. Then again, it wasn't that long ago that you could make money by driving to Colorado from the East Coast and bringing back this exotic beverage called Coors.
