Though swatter makes a good point. You've dumped your EX500 already and you want to get one of THE fastest vehicles you can legally take out on the streets? I'd stick to the 500 for a few seasons if i were you THEN consider switching to a 600. Spend some time on that (a few more seasons) THEN hit up the 750. If you take things slow, you'll be a much better rider and have a much better chance at surviving long enough to the point where you can hop on a 750 I4 and actually be able to ride it hard.

1. When you can slide a knee on the ground around a corner at your bikes absolute limit. Or maybe when you can lean yourself off the bike in a left hand turn and then procede to do it for a shapr right hand turn. Ever scrape peg on a sport bike? My friend dan could on his 929 if his foot wasn't so friggan big. His chicken strips on the rear tire are non-existant.

The more experiance you have putting effort into riding the EX500 the easier it'll be to step up to the super sports. sure, you could take some corners with a GSXR600 without any problems, but what about on a EX500? How much do you REALLY have to lean that bike over to get aorund safely. And like i mentioned before, can you lean OFF the seat, so your right "O Ring" cheek is on the very far left edge of the seat?
3. the power differance between a 2000 GSXR600 and a 750 is about 35 hp. The GSXR600 actually weighs about 20 lbs MORE than the 750 and has 35 less hp(according to bikez.com; this is for a 2000). Can you see what I'm getting at with that?

I know when you think "2 more seasons before i get the 600 cc sport bike" may seem like a lot, but you'll be better for it. But hey, if you get a lot of miles on your bike per season, you could be ready sooner. Who knows, by june of next year you could be dragging knee and really be pushing the EX to it's limits.

the speed gauge on the bike shows 140 mph/220km........but i've heard that it can go past that.

planning on taking it to the track next weekend.....i heard it costs $105 for the entire day......good way to see my bike's full potential.

this might sound kind of dumb, but i really don't see your point.....are you trying to say that the faster the bike the lighter it will be?

He just said that the 750 weighs less and has more hp, meaning it's going to be a lot more difficult to handle then the 600. And the 600 is light years different from the ninja.

No, i'm saying that it doesn't only have more power but it weighs less then it's weaker counterpart. the power to weight ratio is even better than the 600's. It'll have even more of a tendancy to want to stand up on it's back wheel than a 600 has. To just look at horsepower differances doesn't tell the whole story. There's the power to weight ratio as well. Take a newer rider (like yourself) and put you on a KX250. It's "only" 56 hp, but weighs next to nothing (compared to most street bikes). It'd be as hard to push to it's limits (even with a seasons experiance) as it would be to push a GSXR's (be it 600, 750, or even a 1000) limits. 2nd gear on a KX250 scares me and i've been riding a dirtbike this whole season. Though i guess the benefit of a GSXR750 over the 600 for a noob would be that it's easier to pick up off the ground

good point, you can't really go faster than 60mph on most streets, but there is always the freeway....not for me, way too much traffic on the 101 and alot of holes and cracks which makes it really dangerous, so i guess that leaves me with the track.

....but on the other hand, except for the track, i'm sure there are tons of places where you can go faster that 60mph where it's also safe....i see ALOT of gixxers or other 1000s on the street and i'm pretty sure they didn't buy it just to take it on the track once a month. am i wrong?

A) look cool
B) compensate for lack of manhood
C) take it to the track and ride it

Everyone picks their bike based partially on how it looks, for some people it's a bigger concern then others.

Mmmkay, so it's fairly obvious that you're going to keep asking until someone tells you to get the bike that you "actually want." So I'm just going to come out and say, "I think it's a stupid idea." But if it's what you really want to do then go ahead and do it. You're a grown man and able to make your own decisions.

These guys might be more willing to endorse your choice of bike then we are.
