The Empire Series (3 books) and the Riftwar Saga (4 Books) By Raymond.E.Feist and Janny Wurts.

They are by far and away some of the best books I have read, and indeed they are where my nick (Keyoke) comes from!

Oh, and American Gods by Neil Gaiman - life changing book if ever there was one....
