I have had a few jackets and my favorite one has been my Alpinestars. It'd would be perfect for you in TX. It is an armored jacket first off and the armor is the strongest and thickest feeling I could find. It has perforated (sp?) leather in the arms only so you can get cool air coming up through your arms and comes to your chest. I've worn it in 100 F weather and was fine, as long as your moving. Sometimes you have to sweat to be safe though. With the liner in you can ride through about the mid 60's. When it hits that point, I switch to my TourMaster.

High quality leather that has shown no signs of wear through about 9,000 miles this year. Very nice looking jacket as well. I think I will definitely stick with Alpinestars.

I was looking at AlpineStars and a few of them didn't have a size (like S, M, and L), they only had a number. What does this number indicate? Obviously a size measurement (had Size: 46) but what numbers correspond with what size?

And 'denier' is the size/width/whatever of the fibers in textile correct?
Have fun on the open /¦\

46" chest measurement, or about x-large. large is around 42" chest measurement.
Like all things it varies by brand.
Familiarity breeds contempt.

You have to think about these things.

1. It has to be comfortable, Plain and simple. If it's uncomfortable, you won't wear it.
2. You have to like it. Get what you like. If you are embarassed to wear it...you won't wear it.
3. Be patient and shop around.
4. And last, think about it. If you fall off or get hit by something, you need to protect yourself the best way you can. Would you sacrifice you wallet for a broken leg or a hella road rash? If you spend $250-600 for a really good jacket, $100 pants, $50 gloves, and $100 helmet, it will hit your pocket but it could possibly save your life and keep you pretty!

I know i`m kinda new... But...

I`ve seen some very good armor with no jacket on it... You put it under your clothes.

So i was thinking of that, Plus a leather jacket.

There`s also a new Brazillian device that in case of a fall it inflates around your neck and torso, like an Air Bag... Preventing fractures and concussions.

TP
New rider... I need help.
