It depends on the company. You can sometimes tell when you fill out the application. If they ask for your insurance claim history for the last x years, then x is the number. It will be different for different underwriters (I've heard from 3 to 5 years). Unfortunately, with computers these days, a lot of insurance companies don't have to ask. Their version of Big Brother will already have all that info. In that case, I'd just ask the underwriter directly. There's no reason they wouldn't give you that info (assuming you can find a human being to talk to).

Do yourself a favor and switch insurance carriers when renew time comes up.
And if you dont need to have it drop comprehensive and collision. This accident will drive up your comp and collision but wont hurt your liability as much.
I would never carry full coverage on a used bike unless I had to (i.e. the bike is financed)

I got caught doin 10 mph over the limit in my Pickup truck back in the states when I was learning. The Insurance company called and said they were going to simply cancel my M/C policy (!?)
Anyway, I called a few companies and found one to inure me at a better rate than the first one (!!)
Good luck w/ your thing. Maybe you can talk to a lawyer about having the incident taken off your record?

Sorry mate, it will be there. Big brother is global. About the liability thing, never admit liability. In the case of an accident, SAY NOTHING. Simply get the third party details if there is any. If there is no third party look for cause, oil on the road, bad road markings, anything that you can blame. Never drink and ride. Get sympathetic witnesses if you can. Nothing stronger than some old dear yelling as how that big truck ran you off the road, sorry officer my eyes are too weak to get the plate, but he bullied that poor boy. Thanks Grandma. Admitting liability lets every one off the hook. Make them work for it.
