ZX6 vs 600R

#1 Unread post by Sphinxman »

Can someone please tell me the difference between the 1990's ZX6 and 600R? They seem to be the same bike with different body work. I'm sure there's more to it than that.

Completely different bike. The 600R came out in '88 and was the top dog 600 Ninja for two years. It has an old fashioned steel double cradle frame, 16" front wheel, and bias ply tires. In '90 Kawasaki released the ZX-6, it had alot revier, more powerful engine, a far more modern aluminum frame, 17" wheels and radial tires. There was quite a difference in performance and they kept the 600R around for several years as a cheaper 600cc option.... Hope this helps..
