Recommend Good Site to Buy a Value-priced Leather Jacket?
I wouldn't want the patchwork myself... but the cheap bike leathers are usually buffalo hide and are thicker than leather IMHO... You don't need to spend $400.00 for a "Genuine" Harley-Davidson leather to be protected.

But you can spend $200 for one with armor in the arms, shoulders, and across the back. Which is a lot better then a buffalo hide stuff out there.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Armour or not I don't consider $200 a "value priced" leather jacket. I was responding to the original poster.

Apline Stars Air-flo $170
First gear burnout $190

Kevlar has a nasty habit of having it's fibers stretch and then snap or come apart when faced with that sort of sliding impact.
Kevlar is designed to prevent the blunt force tramau caused by a bullet, not the abrasion caused by sliding down the highway.
Typically a good kevlar reinforced jacket will actually be a mix of high quality nylon and kevlar, or even include steel wire to help prevent the above from happening.
I did not mean to imply that the site belong to you either. Sorry if you feel this way. But without specifics, such as what type of armor (refered to as padding) or how thick the leather is (refered to simply as grade A), or even what the stitching is like (jackets weak point is the stitching which typically breaks under strain falling apart) I couldn't in concience recomend one of those jackets as something safe to ride in.

I got some kevlar (I Think) in my boots.... BMW Gore Tex... there's some armor in it anyways .. i don't have an armored jacket tho.. so I'll have to take your word on that.
For that price I might consider getting 1 if they have a Tall that.
