Personally Ron I don't believe that prayer works that way . However I do believe that the will of God will never take you where the Grace of God can't protect you .
Kindest regards, Wizzard
A prayer request...

I'm really sorry to hear your news. You have my heartfelt sympathies on this. I know just what it feels like to have to let go of an ailing business and get back into employment - if indeed, as you say, employment is to be had. It sounds like you may have a struggle ahead.
My wife and I had a small retail business for a number of years and had to fight and fight to keep it going as the last recession cut into our income. In the last year before we went down we were working all the hours in the day just to stay afloat. It was a really hard grind - and devastating when we finally had to give up everything that we had worked for over such a period of time.
I don't do prayers, as you know, Ron, but you will be in my thoughts over the coming months.
Kind regards to you and yours with the hope that you manage to get the best possible outcome from a difficult situation.

I do not do the prayer thing either, but then I do not think I have to. Reading between the lines you have the answers already, just have'nt committed to the defeat yet. Do it and move on, we can see the strength is there to make it happen, maybe you just need to some comments to support you. You have seen the need to change and therefore have more sense than those that never do.
It's funny, the smarter you work, the luckier you get.

I've put all my possitive thoughts in your direction. Everything happens as it should and that includes the bad things. If you are facing your worse day, there is always tomorrow. It might not be great either, but there is always hope. Our missions here (among other living here on earth) are not always clear, but putting the best intentions out there and adding to the possitive enegy can only help. Someone mentioned Job earlier, and even though I do not appreciate the whole message of that chapter I do know Job kept his attitude straight through tough times and did not give in to the temptation to feel lost. You are a good man regardless and I hope things make an upturn for you soon. I know God is already with you in your heart, but we are all with you in our hearts and minds. You know in our limited way (Internet-wise) you can lean on many of us. I won't say "Good luck" but instead say - keep plugging away. Fighting the good fight as a good person can only equal good.
Globalization. We can't stop it, but every day we are reminded that it is killing every last bit of localized and personalized existance. We are lucky to have everything we need down the road, or a keyboard stoke away, but it does slowly kill small business and the character of the independent contractor. I think we could all use a prayer or a good dose of possitive energy.

Ron, it would seem that you're from an area of the country where I used to live. I got laid off from McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis in 1991. I had nothing but a motorcyle & my clothes. I started over after 14 months of unemployment in the textile industry. Two weeks ago after 14 years I was RIFd again. I'd be honored to pray for you as it takes some of the aloneness out of my own job hunt. I'm 56 years old so it will prove a hallenge for me. I live alone so I only have to take care of myself. God bless you Ron & guide & strengthen you in this time.

Thanks everyone.
Bob, I worked in aerospace during my last two years in the AF, with the B2 stealth bomber program. I know how that can be. When the guys at Northup-Grumman, and Hughes said "come on over to us" I took a long look at what was happening to them. I said "No thanks," and I truly understand how you feel. I'll keep you on the prayer list as well.
